Pam Roberts
My love of gardening likely comes from my grandmothers. I remember walking through the woods or backyard with my maternal grandma and she knew the name of every plant. Her own yard was quite wild. Conversely, my paternal grandmother grew flowers lovingly in neat rows.
During my childhood we had a large garden and there is nothing like eating a warm tomato off the vine. Today, I love most everything about gardening and my interests range from English cottage gardens, to water features, and native plants. Lately, Iām focusing more and more on native plants and their role.
I became a master gardener in Monroe County when I retired and decided to design a landscape in my backyard. I had heard about the class and how great it was and signed up.
Now, as Director of Membership, I have the great fortune to meet the interns and learn about their interests and learn gardening tips from them. MCMGA has a wide community of people (newbies and experts) that I learn from every day. In addition, the Board is a hoot and we have a good deal of fun while conducting business.
